Intuit QuickBooks Premier Accountant Edition 2009 [OLD VERSION], Too Big

We have used qbooks for company records for over 10 years. Each upgrade brings more features and resolves usability issues that arise with complicated usage. Anyone and everyone that owns a business whether sole proprietor, llc, etc. It is the only recognized standard for personal use and easily sent to your accountant for tax review and filing.

Like the other reviewers, i’m wowed by some of the new features (toggle version, company snapshot, etc. ) however, the new online banking is a big loser in my book. It is very cumbersome to match transactions, especially if they were not entered in your register in the first place. You cannot create new vendor names on the fly, and it does not recognize typing in the vendor window. You have to open the drop-down and scroll though all the nams to find the one you need. In addition, qb closes all windows when you open the match transactions part, so you can’t hop over and check anything when you are trying to match. It is so much trouble that i’ve given up using it (and i’ve used online banking daily since it first appeared in qb’s) and gone back to doing a manual match from my bank’s online banking transaction list. If i could reverse my data, i would take my company back to the 2008 version for this issue alone. All that being said, as the owner of a bookkeeping firm with over 70 clients, quickbooks is my #1 choice for accounting software. It is user friendly, intuitive (get it, intuitive?) and allows you to manipulate reports to always achieve what you need.

QuickBooks Premier Accountant Edition 2009 [OLD VERSION]

  • Perform write-up, review, and financial reporting with built-in tools like the Working Trial Balance
  • Provide the convenience of “on-site” service without leaving your office via the internet.
  • Exchange, adjust and return client prior period accounting records with the improved

I wanted to wait until the first of year to write off as next year business expense, but the savings were better than the tax deduction.

We have just started using the program. The main problem i see is the minimum requirements for the program to work are way to high. Programmers must be getting lazy these days for a program to keep books to require more machine than one of the top income tax programs. Seems quickbooks 2009 will lose a lot of sales due to people not being able to afford to upgrade their computer. Intuit should be careful not to bell and whistle themselves right out of business.

As a certified proadvisor, i have to admit, i hated the online banking changes – specifically adding transactions. I missed my ‘add multiple’ option and found the new interface clunky and time consuming. With the updated intuit recently released, they’ve greatly improved the entire online banking process. That being said, i think the setup process for online banking is an improvement, and i love the client data review module. This is a fabulous tool to use with new clients, at end of year, and for ‘tune up’ engagements. I find the help menu and the online quickbooks community a wonderful addition and great resources for my clients as well. I think this is a great product and have been recommending it to all my clients asking about upgrading.

QuickBooks Premier Accountant Edition 2009 [OLD VERSION] : Quickbooks premier accountant edition 2009 has the ability to switch to any other version (construction, retail, etc. ) so you can view your client’s files in the same manner s/he does–especially useful if you provide software assistance as well or set your clients up from scratch. I upgraded from 2004 and wow have there been improvements. The home screen with its flow chart helps simplify accounting and provides links to most common processes. The company snapshot is a great at-a-glance tool, and interactivity with excel and word have been enhanced. My personal favorite is the ability to email invoices to my clients, more and more of whom use the ‘net as their preferred communications method. The only downside is the (necessary) size of the program. You will want to upgrade your memory if you have less than 1 gb (i’m getting by with half that but it does slow me down).

Sage Software Sage 50 Pro Accounting 2013 US [Download] – For professionals

I’m not a huge fan of sage 50 pro accounting. I attempted to use it to modernize my fiance’s accounting system for her business. I took her excel sheets and attempted to input them into the system but found out very quickly how hard it really is to just ‘get’ without a lot of work trying to learn the ui. I’m not against it and it gets the job done i just think the marginal benefit for using this product isn’t worth the effort required to learn the software. If you’ve already purchased it, good luck, else i’d suggest finding something designed with the user more in mind.

Sage 50 pro is easy to use also by non-accountants for up to 30 employees. Some screens closely resemble paper-based forms such as invoices or checks. Payroll tax cannot be entered directly and managing payroll without a $270-$380 subscription is difficult, but not impossible. Payroll calculations can be tediously imported. Similarly, excel allows to import the data from another accounting programs, like quickbooks, through manual linking of individual fields. The complete version adds credit card protection, bill payment, synchronization with outlook, audit trail reporting, depreciation management, and phase and cost code level. The premium version adds multiple budgets incl. Selective printing, change orders, serialized inventory, and easier data archiving and restoring. Sage 50 provides all the controls for accounting practices, extensive documentation and tutorials. The installation is simple, but may require turning firewall off.

Sage 50 is a fairly easy to understand software accounting system and i recommend it. It was easy to use and as long as you’re familiar with these programs it helps with all your business record keeping.

  • it is a good product
  • Great software.
  • Easy to use with subscription tedious to avoid

Peachtree accounting became known as sage not too long ago. Peachtree has been a trusted name in accounting software for decades. I first used peachtree software in the mid 90’s for payroll purposes at a company i worked for at the time. I am primarily a quickbooks user but i wanted to give sage a shot. It is definitely a solid product and while i did not get to the point of using the payroll function, i was surprised to learn that payroll can no longer be entered even manually without a fee. I can understand a fee for the automated service but the fact that there is a charge even for entering it manually strikes me as a really bad and annoying idea. I am glad that i will not have to take that step as i will not be using this software for payroll, but please be advised that this will be an issue for those who do. Otherwise, it seems like a well-planned out piece of software and i could certainly see myself using it on a daily basis (just not with any recurring fees).

It makes me sad that with the 2013 version they have eliminated the manual payroll option. It was a good ‘bragging point’ when having the ‘quickbooks vs peachtree’ debate. I will stick with peachtree/sage 50 but i’m not so sure i will be upgrading to a newer version anytime soon. Let me make a point, though. Whatever faults peachtree/sage has (and there are some) they pale in comparison to the problems with quickbooks. Quickbooks has a 90 percent market share. They aren’t going to make much by increasing market share. So instead they do everything possible under the sun to get you to pay for upgrades and support. But the real problem with quickbooks is that it was designed wrong from day one. It uses a single, massive database instead of multiple connected data bases.

I received this software as part of the amazon vine review program. I have no previous experience with sage or peachtree products, however i have used quickbooks products for managing my freelance writing and ebay business. Sage 50 pro has been designed for small to medium sized businesses. It’s a feature-rich software suite that will appeal to some, and be lacking for others. Other reviewers who have used previous versions have very specific things they do and don’t like about this software, and i suggest reading all the reviews on amazon and going to the sage site to use the free trial and see the breakdown of feature comparisons for all the sage products, prior to making your purchase. This will give you an idea if this software is for you. The video shows you the example company and what you can expect to see once the software is installed, and your company information has been put into it. Recognize that any accounting software requires some study and time to get used to using it. Many frustrations with the software may simply be a matter of a learning curve being too steep for some, thus it’s a good idea to check out the free trial before you buy. My experience with sage 50 pro accounting 2013 is limited, but i like what i see.

Easy to install, set up and use. I have a small business and my accountant suggested this. I am able to submit my quarterly information through email. This version does not include payroll. Payroll is an additional cost.

Sage 50 Premium Accounting 2014 – 3 Users – Windows – Good program, does everything but payroll/tax.

It is definitely a solid product and it seems like a well-planned out piece of software and i could certainly see myself using it on a daily basis.

My wife has been struggling with the accounting for her business for a while; she understands the basic accounting concepts (she’s taken classes) but hasn’t been able to find a good program that does everything she needs it to do and is affordable. We were lucky enough to receive sage 50 premium accounting 2014 (3-user) and she absolutely loves it. The interface is easy to use, the way everything is set up is pretty intuitive, and it more than meets her needs. Her one objection to this software is the auto-renewal feature. It’s always annoying when companies do this. In this particular case, you have to provide your credit card information in order to get the thing started. If you forget to cancel at the end of the year, you’re in for a big surprise.

I installed this software, unsure if it would work with my company. I found that the type of company was limited to a handful of companies like retail, manufacturing, etc. Nothing was a good fit for publishing companies, nor companies that use jit/pod manufacturing. It looks like it has a lot of comprehensive forms, but most don’t apply to my company, so i can’t tell you if it will work for yours.

  • A Great Accounting & Inventory Software
  • Well organized for small business, disaster UI.
  • An Excellent, Flexible Program With Great Features

Most people know that sage 50 in its various incarnations is the evolution of the old peachtree. For a very long time, either peachtree or quickbooks was the choice for small business, and that’s still the case. I’m assuming that most people already using software of this type are likely very capable of deciding on accounting software features, so i’m going to position this review as general advice for you folks who’ve been running your business out of a checkbook and a spreadsheet and not much else. Under the latest feature packages and user licensing, quickbooks lighter licenses are probably the choice for very small businesses. Sage 50 is great accounting software, but in the long run will cost you a lot more. You’ll get value for that expense, but you’ll want to make sure that what you’re getting are actually features, users and so forth that you really need to spend the money on. If you haven’t been using a software package for small business accounting, you’ll need to be prepared to learn some accounting principles and put them into action. You’ll need to familiarize yourself with things like a chart of accounts for your general ledger, tying all of your business transactions to these g/l accounts, and for the most part positioning the way you do business to fit the way this accounting software will allow you to do things. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. Many small business have informal ways of handling money and tracking their records that don’t stand up well under audit.

I’ve seen many negative reviews for the 2013 version and don’t understand. Some are awfully suspicious and most are complaining about having to pay for extra features rather than the product itself. Some people want more for nothing. The 2014 edition is hitting the spot though. This is the best accounting software i’ve tried. Whether you run a small business or something very tiny out of your home, sage is worth it. Pros:-easy to set up, use, and learn. Obviously learning comes easier if you have an accounting or reporting background. -runs smoothly and without error after a few weeks of use. Lots of features and the interface looks good. -the software helps you determine which tools are most beneficial for your needs. -good for forecasting and managing inventory.

Features of SAGE 50 Premium Accounting 2014 – 3 Users – Windows

  • Make sure this fits
    by entering your model number.
  • Control budgets and departments
  • Focus on key business metrics with at-a-glance dashboards
  • Help increase job profitability with change order processing
  • Use serialized inventory to track warranty claims, recalls, and more
  • Design and share insightful reports with custom reporting toolsRecommended System Configuration

I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again. This is a wonderful software package. The accounting and inventory portion of this software is premium by far. But not much else has changed since the 2013 version. But it is still boss over the sage 50 complete accounting 2014 software with more features, but you would think with sage getting raked over the coals from the 2013 version about removing the payroll processing / tax features and making them a completely seperate add-on, that they would have heard the cries of foul. They are definitely sticking to their guns on this one. Given a few years down the line, nobody will even remember that they were once a singular product under peachtree. Also, in order to create and report on payroll checks in your sage 50 accounting solution, you are required to get a sage business care gold or platinum subscription. Although you are getting a wonderful accounting and inventory software, they are continually throwing additional add-ons and sales pitches to buy even more of their products.

Sage premium accounting (peachtree was its’ former and more well known name) has a variety of different ways to manage cash flows and analyze numbers. Installation took about 20 minutes, but the process was easy-just make sure you disable firewall and virus protection software. Once installation is complete, you have access to all the basic accounting functions, like tracking and billing services and tracking items for sale. You even have access to more advanced functions, like comparing multiple budgets across four years and tracking serialized inventory. Software icons are clear, but the extensive myriad of features can be initially difficult to navigate. There are also examples of sample companies if you would like to examine several good paradigms for organizing your company accounting operations. Overall, there are a ton of features that are easy to use once you become acclimated to this advanced software application.

Intuit QuickBooks Basic Payroll 1-3 Employees 2010 [OLD VERSION] : Makes it so easy!

I like the product ok but to install it and start the service i ended up talking to 4 different people and it took over two and a half hours.

I have one hourly employee plus myself and pay weekly. I use the basic payroll service and file all my own forms. It reminds you of the filing dates. It is very flexible and allows you to tailor it to your own needs. It was a lot cheaper online than in a store.

Quickbooks payroll is easy to use and simple. I do weekly payroll so the ease of use and amount of information it provides is perfect. Here are the specifications for the Intuit QuickBooks Basic Payroll 1-3 Employees 2010 [OLD VERSION]:

Quickbooks payroll gives me the tools to do my job quicker while being more efficient. You never have to worry about tax changes, they are provided for you. And year-end electronic payroll w-2 and w-3 filing makes my job so much simplier.

I’m in the book-selling business. I am not in the accounting business. That is why i appreciate quicken so much. Quicken is simple, fast, and dependable, which frees me to do what i’m in business to do- sell books.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • QuickBooks Basic Payroll
  • Payroll simplefied

For a small business, the basic payroll works great. It is easy to set up and maintain. It is also scalable and can expand with my company.

Have been using the payroll system for many years. Pays our employees and tracks all the material we need for our reports.

Intuit QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 11, Enterprise worthy

If quickbooks enterprise wasn’t already the best accounting program out there, it is getting even better with its latest feature sets. New features including automatic transaction generation and links to electronic payment keep adding to its strong core of fundamentals and distance it even further from the competition.

I just installed qb enterprise solutions v. 11 for a client to deal with a huge company file. The speed increase was dramatic. They have only have three users but the 5-user pack will have to do. If you’re having trouble, i suggest looking for a quickbooks proadvisor to help you through the process. They’ll come to you to make sure it’s all set up right and show you how to use it.

And by ‘vital’, i mean life-sustaining.

If you make sure that the initial installation is done by your accountant or financial officer, you can hire somebody to take care of the day to day bookkeeping that does not have to be a full charge bookkeeper (which saves money). With your audit trail on your financial officer or accountant can easily audit your financial statements and find any errors. However simple or complicated your business may be, you can customize the program to work for you. We do extensive job cost accounting and over ten years ago stopped using a program that cost us tens of thousands of dollars to purchase and thousands of dollars annually to maintain. As far as we are concerned there is nothing better then quickbooks enterprise. We started with quickbooks pro and moved up as we grew.

Sage Software Sage 50 Premium Accounting 2013 US [Download] – Excellent Product

Let me start off by saying this is a wonderful software package. The accounting and inventory portion of this software is premium by far. But that is where the high praise ends for me. This is a subscription based software. This isn’t like owning a copy of coreldraw graphics suite x6, or a copy of microsoft office professional 2010 and it’s yours. You have to shell out money every year to use this software. Plus, it’s not like the previous versions of peachtree where payroll and taxes were inclusive to the software. These are now seperate purchases and are quite costly and are annual subscription based softwares as well. There are several different fees that are required to use the full potential of the software, which they market to you pretty consistenly. So if you put alot of work and investment into your accounting and inventory, using this software, they kind of have you and your business hostage.

I’m seeing many negative reviews and don’t understand. Most are complaining about having to pay for extra features rather than the product itself. Some people want more for nothing. Pros:-easy to set up, use, and learn. Obviously learning comes easier if you have an accounting or reporting background. Lots of features and the interface looks good. -the software helps you determine which tools are most beneficial for your needs. -good for forecasting and managing inventory.

Sage accounting software was easy to install and very user friendly. Sage 50 premium accounting 2013 offer a ton of features that are easy to enact, like check writing, invoicing, purchasing, project tracking, company consolidation, advanced budgeting and data archives. I enjoyed using this software, as it was stable and intuitive, similar to adp e-time sysyems. I did not notice any glitches in the software. My biggest concern for sage software is the extra added costs for customizing your software. Additional features for this product also cost more money. A custom payroll system, for example costs an extra $300 a year. If cost and paying extra fees for added features is not an option, then sage software works fine.

  • Excellent Product
  • Great Software But They Sock It To Your Wallet.
  • Mixed Bag

I don’t know why the makers decided to change the product name from peachtree (which everyone recognizes) to sage, but this does appear to be a wise upgrade to an already decent product. Tech support is good; internet videos are good. So far sage 50 premium does everything i want it to do to run a dual-location business with inventory, branching out with internet sales.

In using sage 50 premium accounting, i replaced a late 2000’s version of intuit’s quickbooks so i do not have the context to compare this to an earlier version of peachtree (what this was called in previous versions). When first becoming familiar with this software, i was immediately impressed with the graphical interface to navigate the menus. I had one customer service question when i started and it was quickly answered via email which was nice. This revolved around a quickbooks import which i could not get to work correctly but eventually managed. My data import was a very simple one to say the least but more complicated imports might have problems. My primary purpose for using accounting a service is to help manage my friends custom bike building business he runs out of a garage. Its a relatively small scale business with no other employees so the ill-fated subscription payroll feature is not relevant to us. Everything else we would need to handle (vendor orders, accounts receivable etc) is easily handles by this software clearly designed for more complex organizations but if you are looking for software for of this size, although it may be overkill, it won’t steer you wrong. The e-marketing portion of the software was somewhat of a letdown. It basically has some functionality to do some social networking and chart/flier generation that other programs do better.

  • Easy-to-use software that saves you time and money
  • Accounting, inventory, and reporting for strategic growth
  • One year subscription of support, product upgrades and more!
  • Powerful tools that help you manage costs, employees, and security

I thought i’d pick an accounting package to manage the finances of the lacrosse program that i run, and, well i got a ferrari where i think a chevy volt would have done the trick. Yes, you can handle all of the basics that you might be looking for. It works great for managing the money flow, and i particularly like the marketing tools (the social networking and survey functions are particularly useful. Best of all for me, we don’t have payroll. I have read the complaints about that function, but it didn’t affect me. Another positive aspect is that, for a non-professional, i was able to get going on this pretty quickly and easily. The interface is very intuitive. I would definitely recommend this for any small business. As i mentioned, however, it is a little over powered for what i am using it for.

Microsoft Money Deluxe 2005 [Old Version] – 2005 version worth trying – Don’t believe all the negatives

Microsoft money 2005 appears to be a solid product based on my experience to date. I upgraded from money 2004, and i have not encountered anything that would prevent me from continuing to use money 2005. I was wary of the product after reading the negative feedback so i downloaded the trial version before buying. (i definitely recommend this approach before purchasing. ) money 2005 will convert your file to the new version, however it does make a copy of your existing file in the event you choose to return to your previous version of money. (if you’re not comfortable with money’s automated method of creating a copy of your original file, then manually make your own copy or backup file)after converting my file and using money 2005 i found most everything to function as it did in the 2004 version, and i didn’t find anything too unusual or out of place. I do keep my file password protected; however i do not use the passport password feature (i use the local money file password) because i do not feel the need to check my finances from other computers via the internet. The password feature works the same in 2005 as it did in the 2004 version. In spite of my positive remarks, there are two negative responses i have read that i must concede to those who have responded before me: first, after installing my purchased version of money 2005 i was prompted to download software updates from the internet. The fact that software updates are necessary makes me think there may be some validity to the complaints of bugs from the early adopters of the software.

The good:finally, a personal finance product that does the work for me. Thanks to microsoft’s use of yodlee i am able to have money connect automatically to my credit cards and bank accounts and automatically (that is the most important part) download the latest transactions, run them through my budget and within seconds tell me where i stand for the month. I do nothing and know where i stand on my budget. It has taken too many years for quicken/money to get to this point. The bad:i got everything working fine and suddenly the software stopped automatically downloading my latest transactions. I emailed tech support and they got back to me the next day with some things to try. They said to email back if i needed more help. I have responded twice (got confirmation that my issue was submitted) and have not received a response. Very shocking to have this come from microsoft.

There is a small army of people who, like the recalcitrant insurgents in iraq, will do anything to try to destroy microsoft’s reputation. I’m not here to defend the biggest software company in the world. As with any company, it makes some great products, many good products, and some bad products. I did not upgrade to microsoft money 2004 because, sometime in 2003, my money file developed some kind of minor corruption (“this operation cannot be performed” error after entering certain types of transactions), and money 2004 refused to even read the file. This time, i downloaded the trial version of money 2005, and it loaded the old-format file without a hitch. And the mysterious error message is no moremoney is cool because it makes it easy to keep track of your accounts, esp. For someone like me with dozens of banking and brokerage accounts (many from the days of internet bubble when banks were giving away free money for opening accounts — i knew i needed a real job. It’s generates useful reports to track your networth, by category or over time. Even for someone like me with lots of small accounts but little to show in the aggregate, it’s immensely useful.

I love keeping my finances in order with this tool. I hate that they do not make this any longer. But it is truly everything i need to manage my future.

  • Loved this product back then!
  • Great financial tool.
  • Five Stars

Microsoft Money Deluxe 2005 [Old Version]

  • Personal finance software with award-winning Portfolio Manager
  • Automatically consolidates online financial information
  • Essential tools for improving credit and organizing taxes
  • Stay up-to-date on accounts and transactions
  • Get help with credit and debt; simplify taxes

Bought this product years ago. This was the money software to purchase. However, ms money is no longer in production.

I’ve used ms money since 2000, and upgraded in the past from money 2000 to money 2002 without incident. Upgrading from money 2002 to money 2005 with all the new web features was a major headache. When i tried setting up online services for my existing accounts (web synching with the ms passport), some of my accounts disappeared and could not be recovered. Some accounts became duplicated, and the account merge functionality did not allow me to merge them (it listed the wrong accounts). It also reassigns some categories, like groceries, without telling you. I ended up disabling the passport online options and now i’m using the program just like money 2002, which is fine, i guess, but not exactly what i wanted. If you are starting to use personal finance software for the first time, i highly recommend this product and give it 4 stars. If you are upgrading and have many accounts like i do, i offer can only give this product 2 stars.

Intuit QuickBooks Customer Manager 2 : Great for the SMALL small business and more

Well- i have been enjoying this product quite a lot. I effortlessly linked this to my quickbooks contacts. I had been saving them to excel then importing them to outlook. Yeah, yeah i know there is probably an easier way, but it worked for me but. Then i needed to actually use this contact info. So, it was a rather complicated mess of linking the contact to a task in order to keep track of who i sent what to and who needed to be contacted later and so on. It was a cumbersome messi spent plenty of time looking for good customer relations management tools. There are some good ones out there, but they far more expensive and do a lot more than i will ever need. I am one person, not a big company.

This is a reasonably priced solution for small business to track customers and integrates well with quick books and outlook/ms office. I’d prefer an option to use other email clients (such as mozilla)or i’d give it five stars. I’m able to see my appointments and balances for a given client with a glance and can instantly create a new financial transaction from within customer manager. You can download a demo from intuit for 30 days- check it out before you buy. I’m a one person business so for my situation it’s perfect.

I finally figured out that this program works great as a stand-alone tool, but ‘stinks’ when one attempts to integrate it with quick books, quicken, act, etc. At it’s core, this is a simple, straight-forward, even elegant, alternative to the big, bloated, expensive (not to mention, poorly supported) monstrosities such as act, goldmine and others. ‘ would bring outlook into the 21st. Century with a complete ‘desktop’ crm for the masses, none of these ‘pretenders’ would be necessary. But, alas, as has been the case with the customer-service ‘rip-off’ and abomination that is now ‘act by sage’, greed ‘will-out’; and, as always, the customer loses, big time. Renamed, a well-finished, ‘bug-free’ incarnation of this tool, that performs, as advertised, could enjoy a profitable sub-niche all its own.

Key specs for QuickBooks Customer Manager 2.5:

  • Organize what you need to know about any customer, all on one screen
  • Pulls latest customer information from QuickBooks, Outlook or Outlook Express; keeps information uniform and up to date
  • Communicate with customers efficiently; send personalized e-mails or letters and create new mailing labels
  • Manage project quickly and easily; view appointments, e-mails, letters, faxes, spreadsheets, and more on one screen
  • Simple to learn and use; set-up wizards get you up and running in 30 minutes

“Works Great as a “Stand-Alone”

This program is very useful for keeping track of my client’s information.

If you have a small business, this is the tool for you. We simply needed to keep track of our customers. Name, address, phone number, date of birth, place of employment, and type of products we have sold to them. You can put them in catagories, you can print labels, and import from your other quickbooks programs. Very simple and easy to use. This is just a basic way to keep track of your customers on the computer. Nothing fancy no bells and whistles.

This product is exactly what i have needed. It is a smoothly functioning ‘grand central’ for all the documents, emails, financial information, addresses, etc. Connected with all my projects. It automatically saves entries when they are entered so i have not experienced data loss. By the second day i had it doing everything i needed it to do. It does this by creating hyperlinks with the information you enter. Do you need to access an email, or invoice, or document?. Talk about fast and efficient. On top of all that, it integrates and sychronizes with quickbooks pro and outlook, and it has a very pleasant interface. I couldn’t have asked for more. I’m one of these people who is always looking for the best product to do the job.

Microsoft Money Plus Home and Business [Old Version] – Thanks for this version.

You will find a lot of complaints online about people having problems upgrading to money plus. For those who download stock quotes, there is no alternative, since microsoft now cuts people off after two years of downloading with a given release. I had no problems installing, and was grateful that microsoft (unlike in previous releases) did not arbitrarily change the interface. There are a few added harmless (but useless) additions. Basically microsoft just wants to be sure they get your money.

I made the switch from quickbooks this year to money plus home and business, mostly because quickbooks was far more expensive to have automatic online updates from my bank and credit accounts. I am generally very happy with money. It’s familiar platform makes it very simple for me to use. It allows me to click on almost anything to see more detail. The category system makes sense and is easy to edit. Online updates are relatively painless. There are a couple features though that are laughably underdeveloped. The invoice designer couldn’t possibly be less user friendly. It’s barely worth trying to create a custom invoice design, but after hours and hours of figuring out the nuances, i was able to create something that looked okay at best. Another of my biggest complaints is that when i upgraded from the 60 day free trial to the actual product, i had to re-create my invoice designs.

This version isn’t much different from earlier releases. I bought it simply to maintain the services which are very good and worth the money.

So, after using microsoft money plus home and business, i found it to be a rather robust program. The reporting methods, categorizing, connections into the financial institutions, etc. I have been a user of both quicken (for business) and money (for personal) for years. I am glad they have finally merged the two properly. It meets the needs of my small business as well as my personal finance and investments. I would recommend to anyone. As for the review from c:i am finding the user rating system on amazon becoming less and less useful by the day. Charles gives the software a bad rating, not because of his experience with the functionality of the product, but the time line in which the beta and the production version were released. There are reasons why they call it beta and you should have known the risks prior to using it as a production software.

  • WHOLE lot better than Quicken
  • Excellent product if you want to continue doing things the old fashioned way
  • Great product, but SO not worth it

Had a big problem with the microsoft money working and still trying to get this to work, may take a while to see if it will solve the problem.

Finding this item on amazon was a life saver for me. It was new as advertised, and arrived in the stated amount of time.

They need to bring this software back to life.

Microsoft Money 2007 Home & Business, I agree – the Invoice designer is LAME!

My tax guy says you have everything you need to save you the most money. I have tried 3 versions of ‘q’ it never works good. It’s also will help you with your future.

Little real improvements over 2006, however the biggest omission on day one is the absence of money for the pocket pc. I use this as my main entry point while away and now am worse off than before the upgrade.

Microsoft Money 2007 Home & Business

  • 1-year online payroll from PayCycle calculates and prints paychecks, fills out tax forms (including W-2s), and reminds you of tax deadlines
  • Create great-looking invoices and manage the billing process
  • Track business finances and generate business reports and charts
  • Savings & Spending Budget helps you plan for retirement, savings, and debt repayment
  • See all of your accounts–checking, savings, investments, and credit–in one place

The only thing i didnt like is that they changed the budget setup.

I’ve used money since the early days. Whereas money is probably every bit as good as quicken (plenty of discontent in that camp too) and it works fine for most tasks, as business software the invoice component is critical. Trying to edit or design an invoice is just plain frustrating and extremely limited, rendering it almost useless. Trying to add a discount is rediculous as well with half the discount information refusing to show. Most adverts can be disabled but i do still get ‘reminders’ from ms about new products which i would prefer to turn off.

I think that this one was better than the quicken equivalent i was using but the automatic updates are no better. I have had to fix accounts about every other time i update. It seems to be working ok now but the updates stil take about as long as it takes for me to login to all my accounts and look at them manually so i am not impressed with this aspect. The reporting, on the other hand, is awesome and that is what really saves me time. The invoicing isn’t adequate and i stil create my own invoices but i do use money reports to build theinvoice and then jsut copy/paste as needed.

Microsoft Money 2007 Home & Business : Money 2007 is excellent software for home and small business finances. I highly recommend the product.
